| The meeting VNGOs group for community development |

In the meeting on “sharing experience and result of activities in yearly 2006” held in Hanoi, on 2nd December, 2006, Prof.PhD Nguyen Thi Hoai Duc, head of the VNGO Executive Board said that: since established up to now, with 30 members, VNGOs group has significantly contributed to implementing the millennium development goals such as: poverty reduction, gender equality, sustainable environment, education, reproductive health and HIV/AIDS prevention. In many years, VNGOs group has operating in all of the provinces and cities of Vietnam, focusing on rural, mountainous, remote areas, ethnic minority, disadvantages groups. Many organizations of group has actively participated and approached to VNGOs network resolving in the social issues as HIV/AIDS prevention, safe maternity, women and children health, education, reproductive health for youth and adolescent, especially disadvantages children, street children, fighting against family violence, supporting trafficked women and girls, improving capacity for women and sustainable environment ....The scope of their activities, VNGOs group also contributed suggestion for “Vietnam Development Strategy” of WB and ADB as well as law of gender equality, law of family violence prevention of the National Assembly. Beside, VNGOs also cooperated with Universities and research institutes of American, Sweden..... In the recent year, the VNGOs group have developing their capacity on the many fields as organize management, training and manage of human resources, writing report, writing proposal, evaluation of project, training for trainer....These project has implemented in the rural, mountainous and ethnic minorities, bring out the interest for people so they are respond to joining in the projects. VNGOs strengthening cooperate with local authorities, support for leader to improve the issue as health, population, family planning, malnutrition, safe maternity... The effective community approache models has appreciated in domestic and outside such as The “Father and Son” or “Mother and Daughter” clubs of RaFH in Hoa Binh province was funded by EC/UNFPA, in order to educate reproductive health for youth and adolescents. This model has presented at workshop “Technical Consultation to Review intervention to support the parents of Adolescents” in Geneva, Switzerland ” was organized by WHO.
