Report Human Trafficking - traffickd.org PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 18 November 2011 01:45
Hello,

Traffickd.org is a centralised reporting mechanism for instances of human trafficking. It is currently available in English (other languages will be available from December) and on a variety of media, so that no matter who you are, where you are, or what language you speak, you are able to identify trafficked people to relevant organisations and increase the possibility of emancipation.

Several countries have country-level reporting systems, but if someone doesn't already know the appropriate organisation for whatever country they happen to be in, traffickd.org avoids the need to research it, and forwards information to the correct group. Given that often people are trafficked across borders, this is of vital importance.

The site consists of four parts, which can be viewed at www.traffickd.org:
  1. "Help me".
If someone has been trafficked and they are able to reach out, then they can fill in this form and their information is submitted to in-country anti-human trafficking organisations that are in a position to be of assistance.
  2. "Report".
If someone believes that they have found someone who is the victim of trafficking, they can fill in this form, and the information is likewise submitted to in-country anti-human trafficking organisations that are in a position to help.
  3. "Answers"
This page is a brief FAQ, explaining in-brief what human trafficking is, how victims can be identified, and describing traffickd.org.
  4. "Alliance"
This section of the site is designed to show those individuals and organisations that support the activities of traffickd.org.
We are approaching your organisation as you are involved in the anti-human trafficking movement.  You will note that two parts of the website—“Help me” and “Report”—refer to submitting information to in-country anti-human trafficking organisations.  We believe that you are such an organisation, and are hoping that you are willing to receive reports of trafficking from traffickd.org.

The Process
  1. A person identifies themselves or someone else as trafficked by filling in the relevant form on traffickd.org;
  2. Traffickd.org forwards the report (which will be explained to all in-country organisations associated with the site) to anti-human trafficking organisations in the country that the purportedly trafficked person is currently in;
  3. The in-country organisation keeps traffickd.org updated on the status of the matter until it is resolved.
If you are willing to be part of this process, please let us know.

Other ways to can get involved
  1. A link to traffickd.org from your website
Traffickd.org will be most effective if it is easily discovered by people. As such, a link-back would be of benefit in two ways: firstly, through contact with visitors to your site, and secondly because the more websites that link to traffickd.org, the higher it will appear in search results on engines such as Google. This will facilitate the process of locating the site, reporting trafficking, and therefore emancipation of trafficked people. This link could accompany the traffickd.org logo, a description, or stand on its own.
  2. A link to your site from traffickd.org, and logo on our "Alliance" page
If your organisation is unable to receive reports of trafficking but still wants to be involved, then you can join the traffickd.org alliance.  We would show your proud logo with a link back to your site on the traffickd.org "Alliance" page.  If you are willing to receive reports of trafficking and in a position to help, then select of your organisation’s details, including its website address, will be located on an “In-Country Organisations” page.
  3. Connections to other anti-human trafficking organisations
If you already have connections with anti-human trafficking groups or organisations, we would very much appreciate your letting us know of this connection. In an area such as trafficking, which is so prone to corruption, the approbation of an organisation by a traffickd.org alliance member would help to improve quality control. This in turn would improve the traffickd.org service overall.
  4. Connections on social media
If your organisation has a profile on social media such as Facebook or Twitter, we would appreciate your connecting with the relevant traffickd.org sites (
www.facebook.com/traffickd.org and @traffickddotorg respectively). This too would help to raise awareness of the site and improve the possibility of emancipation for victims of trafficking.
Thank you for your assistance, and please feel free to contact us should you have any questions.

Kind regards,

Traffickd.org

(Please note that in the interest of safety, traffickd.org's staff do not use their names in out-going correspondence).

Dear Kiki, PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 09 November 2011 06:17

Dear Kiki,

After received your e-mail, I try to find USAID’s document about HIV/AIDs program in Vietnam. So today, I have read a subject “USAID-Vietnam-486-11-016-RFA”, I realize that in page 30 - 3.5 mention that gender equality mainstreaming in HIV/AIDs program in Vietnam and that in the document of PEPFAR, they emphasized:

Gender issues are central to the achievement of equitable and sustainable development outcomes, and USAID strives to promote gender equity, where both men and women have equal opportunity to benefit from and contribute to economic, social, cultural, and political development, enjoy socially valued resources and rewards, and realize their human rights (ADS 201.3.9.3)”.

Therefore, I think that the USAID guidance document is enough for gender equality and women’s rights content to implement of HIV/AIDs program in Vietnam and we needn’t farther requirement PEPFAR more on content of gender equality and women human rights in the program.

Best regards,

Nguyen Thi Hoai Duc
